Intro to Active Flexibility with Maribel Esperanza

Sundays, January 14, 21 and 28, 2024 | 5:00 - 6:30 pm @ 4939 Broadway Avenue

Description: Active flexibility is important in achieving your flattest splits, but in the air is even more important to create the image of a flat split without the assistance of the floor and to protect your joints. During this workshop, you will practice active stretching to improve front splits, side splits, pancakes, and back and shoulder flexibility. Students are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat for exercises on the wall, as well as socks for sliding drills.

Instructor Bio: As a person who was never super flexible, aerials taught Maribel she needed to reach a level of flexibility to achieve certain moves. But, becoming flexible in her 30's was a challenge... stretching was not enough. Focusing on training active flexibility has given Maribel her splits on the ground and in the air, as well as the flattest pancake she never thought she’d have. 

Prerequisites: None

Cost: $60 for all three sessions. Participants must register for the entire series (no drop-in classes permitted). The class fee includes open gym time after the class (6:30-8:00PM)
