Description: In this workshop you will work on monos, including one foot to shin, forearm, and hand in symmetric and asymmetric starting Lbase, potentially moving towards kneeling and standing.
Prerequisites: Ability to stand on one foot. Some experience with foot-to-foot, foot-to-hand, or foot-to-shin is helpful but not required.
Instructor Bios:
Timothy Furman, a stick-balancing evangelist, circus clown, & engineer who traverses the United States to cultivate acrobatic skills and foster a welcoming, enriching acro community through skill-sharing events and his practice. Tim's driving goal is to help his students become the safest, and most informed members of the community possible about all aspects of the practice and instill in them a passion for acro and a desire to make it a welcoming space.
Sophy loves acro and sharing her love of it with others. She does as much acro as possible at all times and has taught acro and other circus arts for over ten years. She specializes in adaptive circus arts for special needs. Having worked in several circus programs and constructed programs of her own, she has performed and taught across this country and others. She decided to focus on teaching acro specifically when she completed acro yoga teacher training in Montreal in the Summer of 2023 and has been traveling ever since, wanting to learn and share more acro.
Cost: $30 (The class fee includes open gym time after the class (8:00-9:00)
